In concrete terms, Beyond Banking is therefore essentially based on the development of a (digital) ecosystem that is tailored as closely as possible to the bank's own customers in addition to the VAS offering around the core business - e.g. securing the wallet with all its contents, using a mobility service as part of the current account.

If such a structure is successful, it not only improves relevance and differentiation, but also growth, customer satisfaction and ultimately revenue.

We see ourselves precisely at this interface between banks (but also energy suppliers, insurers, fintechs & co.) and VAS.

Mehrwerk is the only plug & play platform for Beyond Banking that, in addition to technical provision, also offers the conception, marketing and implementation of the VAS offering - in other words, practically Beyond Banking as a Service (BBaas).

In order to meet this requirement in the best possible way and to further expand our current range of over 450 VAS, we are constantly looking for and exchanging ideas with innovative start-ups and fintechs in particular.

For this reason, Mehrwerk is a premium partner of the Bankingclub's "FintechWorld23" event on April 18 and 19, 2023 in Berlin.

As the name suggests, the event is primarily about fintechs and networking between banks, financial service providers and anyone who sees themselves as "part of the scene".

To this end, the Bankingclub team has invited over 100 exciting fintechs from over 10 categories (including open banking, financing, insurtech, crypto, etc.). All fintechs will be represented with a small stand and will also pitch - based on this, one winner per category and then an overall winner will be chosen.

During the two days of the event, there will be a series of keynotes and presentations by decision-makers and experts on the key topic of "The future of banking". At the same time, you can get to know all the fintechs represented in the exhibition area of the event and attend the pitches.

As a premium partner, we are a member of the jury to determine the winners of the pitch competitions within the 10 fintech categories and on the second day across the winners of the categories.

In addition, our Managing Director and CCO Niels will give a keynote on the second day on the topic of the industry trend Beyond Banking described above and the corresponding Mehrwerk approach.
